Description
Sprouted Pixel Dungeon is a free Open Source turn-based roguelike rpg game that builds upon other open source Pixel Dungeon modifications with permission from the developers. Sprouted PD is a major rework designed to have expanded leveling and upgrade opportunity balanced by tougher mobs and bosses. A goal of this rework is to lengthen dungeon crawler gameplay while maintaining a casual rpg experience.Source is open and currently available here: https://github.com/dachhack/SproutedPixelDungeon/tree/v0.1.1
Sprouted PD is forked with permission from the open source code of Shattered Pixel Dungeon (0.2.4).
Major reworks and additions were done to create a very different playing experience and a game that is not the same as the original.
Please Note: Saves to the previous versions may not load properly on 0.4.0 so you might have to start a new game if you update.
Sprouted Pixel Dungeon differences:
- Much larger levels creating a different game play and strategy experience
- Mobs drop monster meat to facilitate longer and more in-depth exploration of the larger levels
- Dew system has been revised to create a currency for upgrade opportunities
- Dew vial has been reworked as a new pivotal resource for exploring the dungeon
- Wraiths and grave hunting is now a major part of the game progression
- Boss fights have been completely reworked to be more intense and challenging requiring completely new tactics
- Mobs now adjust strength as you go deeper in the dungeon to stay balanced with upgrades
- New levels are accessible at each stage with Four additional levels available at the end of the game
- New levels include unique enemies, items and rewards

Otiluke's Journal available in the first shop will take you to Sokoban levels using Journal Pages dropped by bosses.
Players need to solve the Sokoban levels to gather loot and enough gold to buy the books in the imp shop.

3 ★Bug wiped out 8+ hours progress. I closed the game to have a brake and when i come back in my save was erased. the game isnt very intuitive and full of secret interactions without enough guidance as to what youre supposed to do, vague item descriptions, interactions that will lose you the game after hours of progress (eg a low level boss 1 shot me from out of sight 5 hours in) . relies too much on online research to figure out Too grindy at times and too easy compared to shattered pd
5 ★I have not experienced any glitches, I've played this hundreds of times, it's very entertaining.
4 ★How the hell are you supposed to survive in the Dolyahaven mines? The Kupua and Gullen take near to no damage and the gas they emit(which also isnt a gas) basically kills you instantly. I went in with a +81 warhammer, +32 armour, a +16 Furor ring and a +22 might ring, as well as 12 Ankhs, and stood absolutly no chance. Fighting one is near impossible, fighting 2 is suicide for fighting 8 at once? I would be more likely to be struck by lightning while winning the lottery 3 times before id survive that. I do have a couple suggestions though. 1. Make their gas.... a gas. Purification potions should work against them. 2. The gas should not make you dizzy. That is what makes it so deadly. The fact you cant get out. 3. Remove their rediculous damage and speed. If they can 3 shot my character who has 500+ hp through over 150 defence, thats bs. 4. Remove their rediculous defence. My 350 damage weapon is doing 4-30 damage to gullens. What the hell. 5. Make the levels of the mines larger, and spread out the enemies, so that they dont swarm me. Its impossible to fight more than one of them currently. 6. Either lower the bleed damage that their gas does, BY A LOT I MIGHT ADD, or make them affected by their own gas. 7. Make the Ankh exploding make you invincible for the rest of the turn. I got attacked by a group of them and lost 4 Ankhs in one turn. Do like 3 of those suggestions and maybe you might see a few more people actually making it through.
5 ★My favorite pixel dungeon mod by far, balanced for long and in depth gameplay rather than repeated attempts towards death. Each attempt, I feel like I can actually win the game even if im missing some key items. The dew vial mechanics especially accentuate this system, as well as the cooking of meats. An excellent game.
2 ★if you thought vanilla PD was ridiculously easy, this version will definitely kill you more. i found myself with an enchanted longsword and scale mail getting killed by a single gnoll. i have beaten every version of PD i have seen, but on this the best i could do was take Goo down to half. Not even fun at that point.
1 ★Worst pixel dungeon variation I've played by far, while I can accept RNG can screw you at times, the fact that those puzzles require you to beat it in one shot or miss out on exclusive item is stupid, not to mention they are too vague and mistakes can't be undone. Goo is overtuned compared to Tengu, and I have no idea what the developer was smoking with Flying Protectors in Ancient Sewers scale up to being able to kill you in a few hits with +30 plate armor, recommended level indicator anyone?
5 ★I love this game it gets me mad and thats what I lile about it I never had 2 of the same games I,found a glitch where if you use the rouge and you smoke bomb and you have sheep in your geild of view in the puzzles they start hunting you causing the game to crash when they attack you
5 ★Even if the game is grindy I sat there and enjoyed every single bit. I like the simple art style and even the music(even though it'd be cool to have different themes for different layers). It's definitely not a game for everyone but I love it!
1 ★this is great game whem it doesnt crash....but lately crashing almost everywhere doing everything....with the keys when you re going for the armor adamantite and you use the thing that tracks movement and shoots a beam...sodokan 3 STILL has a bug...was just now trying to complete the book of sky and all of a sudden it died and said corrupted file.....pisses me off when I spend 80 hrs + and the game stupidly gives an error reading...kinda also stupid you cant get the 2nd ring of wealth
3 ★I entered the forest level and killed 108 forest gnolls, but when I tried to exit the forest level the game corrupted and my game was deleted. I had to start over again. Maybe you can look into this problem and solve the bugs? thank youuu Awesome game by the way
3 ★the game is amazing and easily my favorite mod of the pixel dungeons. However, when i got to the books. they were 225,000 a piece. thats ridiculous. every board i went to said they were like max 30,000 so im seriously confused. otherwise great game
4 ★Pretty fun + replayable game! It does have a few bugs. For example, killing marsupial rats occasionally crashes the game-- but that can be fixed by closing and re-opening the game.
