軍棋的棋子每方各有25個，分別為軍旗、司令、軍長各一；師長、旅長、團長、營長、炸彈各二；連長、排長、工兵、地雷各三。
軍棋棋盤
鐵路線：綠線
公路線：白線
行營：圓形
兵站：方形
大本營：最后一行的"右二"和"左二"
鐵路線：棋子的快行線，只要在直線上棋子走的步數不限（不能拐彎）；
公路線：慢行線，每次只能移動一步；
兵站：是棋子的擺放位置；
行營：棋子的保護區，在行營中的棋子可以免受其他任何棋子的攻擊；
大本營：其中一個是軍旗所在位置，另一個可以擺放其他任何棋子，進入大本營的棋子不能再移動。
工兵：行棋比較特殊，只要在鐵路線上，在沒有擋路的情況下，可以拐彎。
吃子規則
司令>軍長>師長>旅長>團長>營長>連長>排長>工兵；
大棋吃小棋，相同棋子相遇，則同歸于盡；工兵能排除地雷，其它棋子不能排雷；炸彈與任何棋子相遇時同歸于盡；地雷：可以勝工兵外所有有生命的棋子，與炸彈同歸于盡。
獲勝方法
吃掉對方的軍旗，則獲得勝利。或者吃光對方所有能移動的棋子也獲得勝利。
