Created by GLITCHERS, presented by Deutsche Telekom and supported by scientists from University College London and University of East Anglia and the lovely people at Alzheimer’s Research, SEA HERO QUEST is an epic culmination of science and gameplay that will change the way dementia research is done forever.
One of the first symptoms of dementia is loss of navigational skills. Doctors cannot differentiate between getting lost caused by disease and getting lost caused by natural ageing because a benchmark of “normal” does not exist.
Until now … because as you play, your navigational data is tracked anonymously, stored securely and combined with every other player from around the globe, to create the world’s largest crowd sourced data set benchmarking human spatial navigation. This incredible resource will eventually lead to the development of new diagnosis tools and treatments for dementia.
Navigate Arctic Rivers, Golden Shores and Mystic Marshes (and Kano Reef coming soon, Kaano fans!), collect memories in your journal and chase magical creatures like Adorabella, Galleo and Octopoid. Collect as many starfish as possible and use them to customise your boat with a new lick of paint, a host of flags and much more!

What's new in version 1.9.0
An update on the progress of the research and what’s next.Thank you for your participation in helping collect over 17,700 years of data for dementia research.
The scientists now have all the data required for analysis, therefore the mobile game will no longer be available to download from the end of February 2019.

As an employee at anursing home specializing in dementia care, this game is so important tome. By simply participating in a fun game, I'm doing more than just makingmy residents comfortable. 3 ★12/18/17: I downloaded this because Both of my Grandfathers passed away from Alzheimers Disease. It was hard watching two people who always inspired me, forget who I even was..And then start to forget who their own children were..Finally for one he forgot who his wife was..And the other forgot that his wife had long ago passed away. I am Still Trying the game out so for the moment everything just gets a 3 star Ok rating. Ill update this after I feel out the game.
3 ★Turning and controlling the boats is not easy. The only thing it keepssaying is go faster. It would be easier to do so if the boat was responsiveenough to turn when you need it to. Continually having to hit the screenone way in short burst while making the boat go faster does not make itresponsive enough. This is more a test of your reflexes than memory for agame that is supposed to be for dementia. Otherwise Interesting concept anda good basis for the game. Improvement definitely needed.
5 ★A game with a cause. The controls is quite tricky which makes the game alittle challenging than it looks. Graphics is beautiful, I love the premiseof the story. In relation to the real life my grandfather has alzheimer andI'm so glad there is a game that raise awareness and in a way that playerswho play the game can contribute to the research
5 ★The concept is simple: memorize the map and go where you are told. However, if you are not the best at navigating then things get real, real fast. The best part is knowing that I am helping to further the research on Alzheimer's disease simply by playing a game in my spare time. I pray that a cure for Alzheimer's is discovered & made available to the masses this year. Play on world, play on!
5 ★I have read some of the low reviews for this game and I can honestly say that most have 0 idea about what they are talking about. The concept is fun and aids a great subject of study. Even if you cannot perform in a "great" manner it just means you are helping to provide realistic data sets. This isn't about winning so download and just have fun.
5 ★This is brilliant. If having a bit of fun can help us fight this terrible heartbreaking diaease in any sort way, no matter how minute or grand, then why not go for it. Most of us have encountered dementia in some way and to stop or even lessen it's effects would be truly magnificent. Try the game, contribute a little bit of your time to help. Its seriously a win-win situation! Great job!!
