Based on the puzzle game shows Des Chiffres et Des Lettres (French) and Countdown (English), players attempt to find the longest word from random letters, and the best calculations to reach a target number by adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing random numbers.Longest Word / Countdown Letters Game: given ten (10) random letters, find the longest word you can within thirty (30) seconds.
Best Calculation / Countdown Numbers Game: given six random numbers chosen from the set {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100} and 1 random target number between 101 and 999, find a sequence of arithmetic operations using the 6 numbers to achieve the target number (or a result closest to the target).
Numbers and Letters is for 1 or 2 players. The game is playable completely offline via pass-and-play. Online play is also available to match wits with opponents and friends in real-time or in correspondence mode (i.e. receive notifications when it is your turn and continue games at your leisure).
All puzzles reveal the best solutions at the end of every round, with the option of looking up words in the dictionary for Longest Word puzzles. A great tool for improving your vocabulary.
