Prolific PL2303 USB-UART APK Download for Android

Description

Prolific announces the world's first and only Android USB Host API driver solution (NO root permission needed) for connecting PL2303 USB-to-Serial devices to Android-powered devices with USB Host mode support. Customers can now develop Android software (APP) based on the Android driver library provided by Prolific.

The PL2303 USB-to-Serial chip not only provides driver solutions for Windows/Mac/Linux but now also for Android OS platforms. The PL2303 Android driver library allows customers and developers to write Android applications to interface their UART/ RS232 / RS422 / RS485 devices with millions of Android USB host devices like Smartphones, Tablets, and Smart TVs.

This is just a terminal program, not used in the above specific device applications, such as GPS, cash register, modem,..etc...
Terminal program just for watching row data, if you have a specific purpose, please make sure your PL2303 chip model, you can download the SimpleTest APK source code from Prolific web-site, and then develop your own android application

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

1 ★Hi! Huawei Mediapad with Android 4. CheckChipVersion says what I have PL2303 HXD (what supported). Not work! Help

3 ★I have used Prolific drivers for windows7 to do serial port communication. I'm trying to do same thing on my Micromax mobile and Datawind ubislate 9ci tablet. When I start the app, it successfully recognizes that device is connected but then buttons and text boxes get freezed. Why?

3 ★If the PL2303 chip device is the only device plugged into a USB port, then it seems to work once the settings option is clicked. If a second device is being used or is plugged into my android tablet, the connection is discontinued or not available. For me this means no external keyboard can be used concurrently. As an added thought, I really need a gps driver and would like to see one in the future.

2 ★I have been trying to get in touch with someone at Prolific regarding this API. No response from the sales@... email listed here, and their support page on their website doesn't work. 2 ★I believe this will work for some people, but it doesn't work for me and my Toshiba Thrive. I have two adapters with prolific PL 2303 chips and neither one works with this program but both work with other Android terminal software. The interface is clean and light and simple and I like that so I'm giving it two stars anyway.

Ok, checked, and apparently I have the HXA chip. Prolific reports it's not compatible with their more recent drivers, and could even be a fake chip. :-(

1 ★I cannot figure if this particular device is not supported (as in what comm chip is used) but it is completely useless!!! I cannot figure why, in the marked as experimental as ANDROID market one would not wan to support older chips?!?!?!?!?

1 ★I have a Moto G 4G (XT1040) phone with USB Host support. I use an OTG cable to connect to an "Insigna NS-PU99501-C" USB-to-Serial Cable, which is using a PL2303RA chip (according to the windows utility). I've tried the App on Google Play, then the app in the API developer kit, and none of them can make the adapter work (it should work, right ?). The cable works well in Windows 7, though. So i give one star because the planned use was on android.
