Because of its attention to written storytelling, detailed worldbuilding and abundance of lore, Grim Tides can be similar to a solo Dungeons and Dragons campaign, or even a choose your own adventure book.

Grim Tides is a single player game and can be played offline. It has no lootboxes, energy bars, overpriced cosmetics, content locked behind endless microtransactions, or other modern monetization schemes. Just a few unobtrusive and removable ads, and completely optional in-app purchases, for those who wish to support the game and its development.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★First of all, the game play is slow and boring. It takes forever to get any gold and levels. On top of that, the whole earn income by watching an ad installed the game in the ad WITHOUT MY APPROVAL!! It had like a under 5 second count down with a small button to cancel the install!! I didn't have enough time to see what was happening before the game was already being installed. App devs 100% get to have some control over what ads they show. This is HIGHLY shaddy.
5 ★This is a great, fun, free game. You can watch an ad each in-game "day" to earn a few extra gold but it's not required or necessary to play the game and have fun. If you want a nice, simple grid grind with plenty of character customization in the way of upgrades, this is an excellent choice.
3 ★Fun enough even as it's definitely trying to kick your teeth in. EDIT: Despite meeting the requirements to complete a quest, both are red. Unable to proceed despite the fact I should be able to. Between that and forced ads had to bump down. Normally give 2* at most for games with forced ads and uninstall. Had done these steps, still stuck.
3 ★Again with the UI lag. It's your banner ads. Especially the ones that transition, like Paramount or Introvert Dating, which actually froze the whole game. Your games are the only games that have done this, so I'm guessing its your coding. Could be fun but not worth the hassle. Overall lag reduction from your original was decreased to 3 - 5 seconds, though this version freezes, unlike the first one.
5 ★I haven't made it very far, but the game seems very extensive. Weapon/armor enchants, several dungeons, the dungeons level up each time you beat them, it takes a while to progress but not so long that it gets boring. Plenty of quests, and interesting dungeon events. There might not be any fancy graphics, but this game really shows they aren't needed.
2 ★Fun at first, but the CONSTANT crashing makes it virtually unplayable. At most, I can get halfway through a second dungeon run before it freezes and then restarts. Since it only saves in town, this means that all unique objects you have picked up and bounties you have finished are gone. I have lost quite a few great items this way. I also wish there was a way to go back to previous dungeon levels without backing out of your current run and taking a penalty. This makes grinding difficult.
5 ★Great game so far! Only doing one character class but allows for replay in other character classes. Edit 10/16/23 Well I am now up to 4 characters, 3 of them at level 7, 1 at level 9, all different "classes", and this game continues to be great fun. It is a great call back to D&D, and brings back some nostalgic feelings for sure! And, I haven't even started venturing past the 1st dungeon or started any sea faring yet...
4 ★I'm very much enjoying the game. Almost NO intrusive ads. One of the best games I've played on my phone because of that. I love the DND style aspect. There are not many long games like this out there on mobile! It's fantastic. I do wish there was a pop-up of quests you completed on your last run to make collecting them, (and remembering) easier.
5 ★The monetization is as unobtrusive as it can possibly be. I could end the review there, but I'll continue. It plays better than some PC games I've spent serious money on. Builds feel genuinely different, with a nice variety of options within the classic RPG trifecta. While it can get a bit grindy at times, that makes the end rewards all the more worthwhile. Ultimately, this is a reminder to us all of what mobile games are capable of being when their developers have a conscience.
4 ★Gotten to lvl 5 and so far, is a good little game. The font can be changed to one without serif to help my dyslexia (though it could be bolded so I can see it better). It doesn't make you watch obnoxious ads in order to progress so far. But I don't know how to do the first main line quest. I keep reading the journal entry to find some evidence of where to go, but I can't figure it out. Maybe I just need to get deep enough into the first dungeon? Idk.
4 ★The game is a fun throwback to early browser based RPGs and the ads aren't too intrusive. Pretty rare actually. My only complaint is that if you "draw wages" by watching an ad, occasionally it will glitch and you'll end up watching the same ad multiple times. Then it will kick you from the game and you won't get your reward. Otherwise it's a fun, challenging throwback rpg that really makes you plan and strategize your next move.
4 ★Highly enjoyable story without which I would not have stuck with the fairly repetitive gameplay until the end of the main quest. I would actually welcome reading the stories in the side quests, too, but the idea of going through 30+ more levels of dungeon using the same combination of spells isn't a good use of my time. Overall, though, well done! Game is very much as described.
