Description

Madness at Hobbsgate is an exploration adventure game inspired by the works of Lovecraft, where players explore and investigate a large open world map, progressing though an engaging and exciting story. It is a mobile phone adaption of the classic text-based adventure genre, similar to the point-and-click classics. The game combines a bleak environment, an sense of underlying dread, and several moments of comedy to keep you entertained.

As the fourth game in the "Horror in the Darkness" series, the protagonist finds himself trapped within the walls of Hobbsgate Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Unsure of how he came to be there he finds out quickly enough that the line between sane and insane can often be blurry.

5 ★Absolutely adore these games. Classic text adventure with Lovecraft/Cthulhu overtones. Well written! Can't go wrong if you're a fan of things like this.

5 ★Very enjoyable! Ive loved all the installments so far. I even bought the premium version. Only trouble is ive gotten really stuck and i cant get any new hints. Great game though, hopefullu i can actually finish it. Update: I e-mailed the developers at Karmic Shift Studios and received help getting past the butcher. I really appreciate the feedback form them! Wonderful games!

4 ★Mobile games' best continuous adventure game continues along with another installment. The protagonist of the previous three games has gone the way of many Lovecraft characters and gotten himself locked in an asylum. Only for once he maintains he isn't insane and the game involves your breakout. While the setting is more grounded there isn't actually much horror to see in this one compared to the others. Regardless, it's free and worth the download.

5 ★Fantastic story and experience overall, it really gives the same feel of the point and click adventure games, but in text, and combining it with Lovecraftian lore makes for a fascinating journey. Looking forward to the next instalment of the series. (Hoping it'll be soon)

5 ★One of the best horror game series I've played. The descriptions are so vivid and the problem solving is challenging, but very possible to go through. I loved the storyline and I hope it continues, great work.

4 ★I enjoyed it, though some of the puzzles were more frustrating than they should have been (whiskey is flammable, but not the answer). I look forward to the next one.

5 ★I just finished the game. I love this series. Just a few things: it's quite odd how gathering items helps for a save point but they are never used. Another thing is, I wish you have options on which map you wanna see. I don't want to have to go through the points just to view the maps. Regardless, this game is fantastic and the storyline is good.
