RadioFrequenza, la radio dell’Università di Teramo, è l’unica radio universitaria comunitaria in Europa che trasmette su frequenze di proprietà: 102 Teramo e provincia, 101.3 Ascoli Piceno.Per la sua natura comunitaria, RadioFrequenza realizza e produce direttamente programmi, crea una comunità intorno alla radio, dà voce a soggetti, progetti minori, fasce sociali svantaggiate, difficilmente o per nulla rappresentati nei media ufficiali, favorendo il pluralismo comunicativo.
Nasce nel 2003, con la produzione di programmi dell’Università degli Studi di Teramo in onda tutti i giorni, per 4 ore, sull’emittente locale Radio Activity. Un’esperienza che permette l’apertura di un laboratorio radiofonico per la Facoltà di Scienze della comunicazione, che subito attrae studenti di tutte le Facoltà.
Dal 2007, con l’acquisizione di alcune frequenze da parte della Fondazione Universitaria, l’Ateneo dispone di una radio che trasmette H24. Ha prodotto sino a oggi innumerevoli programmi quotidiani, settimanali, news di servizio, una fascia quotidiana di informazione giornalistica locale, nazionale e internazionale. Ha sperimentato format nuovi e originali con centinaia di studenti in conduzione e in redazione, in un costante turnover. Ma la radio ha creato anche un luogo fisico di dibattito e scambio di esperienze all’interno della comunità universitaria, con un confronto continuo tra docenti e studenti su temi di attualità, politica, costume, spettacolo, sport, musica ma anche satira.
Nel 2009 al Festival delle Radio Universitarie, a Salerno, RadioFrequenza si è aggiudicata con “Le parole della scienza” il Premio per il miglior format per un programma radiofonico.
L’ascesa dei nuovi media non ha intaccato la vitalità sempre verde della radio, che ha saputo invece affermarsi in un brillante ruolo di complementarietà con gli altri mezzi. E questo nuovo sito ne è la prova: FM, on line, web-tv, app.
