Description
In HektAR übernehmen Spieler*innen die Kontrolle über einen kleinen virtuellen Bauernhof mit dem Ziel, nachhaltig den Bedarf einer wachsenden Gemeinde zu decken. Ressourcen wie Land, Wasser und Arbeit können genutzt werden, um verschiedene Nutzpflanzen anzubauen sowie auch Tiere zu kaufen und versorgen. Dabei sollten Themen rund um die Nahrungsmittelproduktion und Abfallnutzung sowie auch Wetterereignisse durch Klimaveränderungen behandelt werden. Spieler*innen lernen über den Bedarf an landwirtschaftlichen Erzeugnissen, die Beziehungen zum Klima, die Saisonabhängigkeit, die Bodendegradation, den Wasserverbrauch, sowie auch die Bedürfnisse von Tieren und landwirtschaftlichen Abfällen. Gleichzeitig wirkt sich durch eine wachsende Produktion verschiedene Erscheinungen vom Klimawandel langsam auf die Umwelt aus - Dürre und vermehrte Niederschläge beeinträchtigen den Boden und die Wasserversorgung, Schädlinge und Krankheiten verlangsamen das Wachstum, was Spieler*innen zu harten Entscheidungen zwingen.Projektpartner sind das Klimabündnis Österreich, das Österreichische Gesellschafts- und Wirtschaftsmuseum und die FH Oberösterreich (Forschungsgruppe Playful Interactive Environments). Die EAT-Toolbox wurde im Rahmen des österreichischen Programms für ländliche Entwicklung 2014- 2020 vom Bundesministerium für Landwirtschaft, Regionen und Tourismus und der Europäischen Union gefördert.
