Кора́н (араб. أَلْقُرآن — аль-К̣ур’ан) — Книга - заявляющая о себе, как о Божественном Писании, была озвучена пророком Мухаммадом, в период с с 610 по 632 годы нашей эры. Коран ниспосылался Мухаммаду в течении, без малого 23-х лет в двух аравийских городах - Мекке и Ясрибе (Ясриб позднее переименован в Медину). Коран состоит из 114 сур, каждая сура состоит из определенного количества аятов, содержащих от нескольких букв, до нескольких предложений.Мухаммаду, на момент начала ниспослания Корана было 40 лет. Первой ниспосланной ему сурой, была 96-ая сура "Зигота ("Аль-Алак")". Согласно Корана, его передача была осуществлена посредством Святого Духа, в другом же аяте, конкретизируется, что ниспослание осуществлялось Джибрилем, отождествляемым с библейским архангелом - Гавриилом. Еще один аят говорит о том, что низведение Корана на сердце Мухаммада, происходило с Поверенным Духом
