Surat Al-Baqarah / ?????? yang berarti "Sapi Betina" adalah surat ke-2 dalam Al-Qur'an. Surah ini terdiri dari 286 ayat dan tergolong surah Madaniyah karena diturunkan di kota madinah. Surah ini dinamai al-Baqarah yang artinya Sapi Betina karena di dalam surat ini terdapat kisah penyembelihan sapi betina yang diperintahkan Allah kepada Bani Israil (ayat 67-74). Surah ini terdiri dari 286 ayat, 6.221 kata, dan 25.500 huruf. Dinamai juga surah Alif Lam Mim karena ayat pertama di surah berisi tiga huruf arab yakni Alif, Lam, dan Mim. Surah ini juga dinamai Fustatul Qur'an (Puncak Al-Qur'an) karena memuat beberapa hukum yang tidak disebutkan dalam surah yang lain.
