זוהר ארגוב (16 ביולי 1955, כ"ו בתמוז תשט"ו - 6 בנובמבר 1987, י"ד בחשוון תשמ"ח) היה זמר ישראלי, אשר היה פעיל בין השנים 1977–1987. ארגוב נחשב לאחד מגדולי וחשובי הזמרים הישראלים, ממובילי המוזיקה המזרחית ואף אחד האחראים על ההכרה במוזיקה הים תיכונית כחלק מההוויה הישראלית.מבקר המוזיקה בן זילכה תיאר את חשיבותו המוזיקלית כך: "ארגוב הוא פורץ דרך אמנותי בסדר גודל של יוצרים ידועי שם מהתרבות הפופולרית המערבית, גאונים מוזיקליים שמעט מאוד מהמהפכה שלהם הייתה קשורה ליד המקרה".[1]
בשנת 1978 הורשע ארגוב באונס ונגזרו עליו שלוש שנות מאסר, מתוכן שנה אחת בפועל. ב-1987 הורשע בגניבה של אקדח משטרתי, ונגזרו עליו שישה חודשי מאסר. שלושה שבועות לפני שחרורו מהמאסר (בניכוי שליש), יצא ארגוב לחופשת שבת, שלאחריה התקבלה תלונה במשטרה מצד חיילת על כך שארגוב ניסה לאונסה. בעקבות התלונה, נלקח ארגוב למשטרת ראשון לציון לחקירה, והושם בתא המעצר. ביום שישי של אותו השבוע, נמצאה גופתו של ארגוב בתא המעצר, כאשר קרע של שמיכה כרוך סביב צווארו.
