Glenn Fredly mengawali kariernya saat dia menjadi vokalis “Funk Section”. Pada tahun 1995 (setahun setelah ia lulus SMA pada tahun 1994) Funk Section meluncurkan sebuah album eksklusif yang dikemas secara apik. Tiga tahun kemudian, Glenn bernyanyi solo dan meluncurkan sebuah album yang bertajuk GLENN dengan bermodalkan 8 buah lagu. Dalam album ini terdapat 3 buah lagu yang sering dinyanyikan Glenn yaitu “Kau” dan “Cukup Sudah” serta “MOBIL MAMA” yang menjadi hits di Malaysia.
Album kedua diluncurkan pada tahun 2000 dengan judul KEMBALI. Dalam album ini terdapat beberapa hits seperti “Salam Bagi Sahabat” dan “Kasih Putih”. Seperti album perdananya, album ini masih bernaung di bawah Sony Music Indonesia dengan produser Aminoto Kosin.
