Description

This is the SoundWire free version. SoundWire lets you stream any music or audio ("what you hear now") from your Windows or Linux PC to your Android mobile devices. Use it as:
- A remote speaker or wireless headphones
- A way to listen to music and movies from your computer anywhere around your house, or further over cell networks
- A wireless extension of live audio from your PC-based music system

SoundWire does audio mirroring (audio cast). You can use any music player on your PC or laptop like Spotify, YouTube, or iTunes and stream the live sound over WiFi directly to your Android device.

SoundWire has low latency (audio delay), which means it can even be used to listen to the soundtrack of a movie or YouTube video while you watch (**Note you must adjust the buffer size in app settings for low latency). There are other uses too... SoundWire can work as a baby monitor or listening device with a computer such as a netbook that has a built-in microphone. Hook up turntables to your computer's line input and stream a live DJ set to another part of the house over WiFi, or anywhere else over 3G/4G (additional network setup may be needed for 3G/4G).

Before using SoundWire on your Android device you must install and run the SoundWire Server application on the Windows/Linux PC or laptop which is your source of music, web audio streaming, or other sounds. Raspberry Pi is also supported. Download the server at https://georgielabs.net (do NOT obtain the server from any other web site).

Features
- Live audio capture and streaming
- Excellent sound quality (44.1 / 48 kHz stereo 16-bit, PCM or Opus compression)
- True low latency (unlike AirPlay, Airfoil)
- Easy to use
- Compression option greatly reduces network usage
- Stream audio from PC to PC running x86 virtualized app (Linux/Windows)
- Runs on all Android versions back to 1.5, put your old phone to good use

The free version of the app identifies itself by voice every 45 minutes and displays ads. There is a 10 minute compression trial in the free version. The full version enables unlimited Opus audio compression, can handle multiple clients, and has no ads or voice identification. It also has a special Pro Mode to set and display buffer latency precisely in milliseconds. Please consider purchasing the full version of SoundWire if you'd like to support the developer. Android TV: SoundWire will work on most Android TV devices but needs to be sideloaded. After that it will update normally through Google Play.

If you have trouble remember that most issues like dropouts and trouble connecting are related to your WiFi network. The most common reason for connection problems is incorrect firewall settings at the PC or router. Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

User's Reivew

1 ★It didn't connect, even i try with different firewall profile. Very useless
4 ★Just dose the job right .. even tho its not 1ms latency, so its not the best when gaming but still you can surf a game non competitive games with it. (And its a bit laggy when you are a bit far from the router but once you are close enough its smouth)
5 ★it just awsome, long time productive and helpful. Didn't face any bug report. Almost good.
5 ★If you're here, you already know what this app does. Yes, it has a short delay, but I have found nothing else that could compete with this app. It's a huge lifesaver for my current situation.
5 ★I have a broken laptop speaker , This is a fantastic and very unique app that solved my problem wirelessly !! there is no other alternatives for this app for simplicity , power and functionality , tested in both windows and linux ubuntu , works great , very very great . My only request from the developer , can you also make a server app for android ? not windows and linux only ? I want to be able to use it when running Android in PC OS , I hope you can see my comment and take it into consideration .
3 ★I bought the full version, but noticed that the server does not work well with pulseaudio on linux (I am using raspbian on a RPi 4) when the server is run on boot with systemd. Both the on-board audio and remote audio (on android) are crackling.
2 ★One of the Most Important App on App Store, I would give 5 stars but the audio quality seems pretty bad comparing to other audio wireless app, and also the ads are kind of annoying I hope this will change, Thank You.
2 ★I experienced a consistent audio delay of 1 to 2 seconds with SoundWire, which makes it unusable for watching videos with people talking. It also interrupts the audio periodically with a voice stating the name of the app (very irritating). SoundWire is an interesting attempt, but I think I'll just splurge on a proper wireless headset.
5 ★Works perfectly for me once I reduce the Audio Buffer Size to a smaller one (16 or 32). that way, no delay occur when playing games.. this app is amazing
4 ★My laptop's speakers are damaged. Wanted to watch something on loudspeaker but didn't have any other speaker. Then I came across this app! Used it with a wired connection. One problem is that audio plays through both the laptop speakers and on the android. Couldn't find a way to turn off audio on PC only. Found a temporary way out. I plugged in an earphone into the PC port so that audio is routed through it and I do not further damage the speakers. Hope you put in an option to turn off PC sound.
2 ★The "free version" message is obnoxious. It makes the app worse, so it has to be graded thereafter regardless of the reason behind the message.
5 ★I've been trying the free version for a few days and so far really like it. I'm using a remote desktop app (newer laptop to older laptop) that has no audio but good graphics performance. Soundwire gives this remote system audio thru my tablet. Really good for music and casual news videos. Promo voice not too obtrusive. Dev answered a question via email. Seemed like a good vibe all around. Two-way sound would be even cooler (i.e. mic from old to new). Not sure if that is technically feasible. 🙂
