Description
Radio Glamorgan (RG) is a registered charity (no. 504534) It provides a hospital based radio broadcasting service to the University Hospital of Wales (UHW) in Cardiff. Run entirely by volunteers, RG's main objective is to make the patient's stay in hospital as pleasant and stress free as possible.RG was founded in 1967 at the Cardiff Royal Infirmary. In 1974 the station moved to a basement studio at the University Hospital of Wales and in 1999, after much fundraising, secured enough money to have a purpose built studio on the main thoroughfare through UHW.
A free radio service provided exclusively for the patients of the University Hospital of Wales, via Hospedia Channel 1. Generally, live shows are broadcast from Monday to Friday 10am through to 10pm and over the weekend from 8am to 10pm. Outside these times a selection of uninterrupted music is available.
