Description

Katana Librarian allows you to connect your phone or tablet to your BOSS Katana amplifier via USB or a Bluetooth adapter (sold separately), unlocking your amp’s full potential!

The free version of the app allows you to test your connection and load the built-in demo patches. A single in-app purchase is offered if you wish to unlock the full feature set, which will allow you to:

- Download patches from your amplifier.
- Modify the patch parameters; includes support for all effect types; the editor also changes in real-time as you adjust the parameters on your amp.
- Access undocumented Katana features like hidden amps and multiple simultaneous effects.
- Organize your patches into groups. Tag your favorite patches, or create a set list for a live performance.
- Use the hotkey feature in combination with a Bluetooth MIDI or HID foot switch (e.g. https://amzn.to/3RqNcDY) for hands-free patch and effect switching.
- Import and export MkI and MkII .TSL files.
- Rename and delete patches.
- Write patches to the amplifier's channels
- Emulate the functionality of a GA-FC pedal (even on a KATANA-50)

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Works better than the boss tone studio!
5 ★Now I don't have to haul a laptop with me and I can still do the same thing on my mobile... Works wonders...
5 ★I am very impressed with app. My laptop takes a couple of minutes to boot and BTS takes time to open and connect to my Katana. This is immediate. Much better when I'm feeling inspired. The Gafc screen is great. It took me a moment to figure out how to write patches to my amp but other than that I had no issues. I found a USB A to C adapter on Amazon Canada, 3 adapters for $8. If you are on the fence about this app, don't be. You will not regret it.
5 ★Wow! This app has it all and is very easy to use! This provides a much easier and more portable means of accessing Tone Studio functions than lugging around a laptop. Plus it includes lots of "secret" amp models and lots of other cool stuff. The app also makes it very easy to search for and download patches from Facebook groups, websites, the cloud or just about anywhere. It worked perfectly with my Samsung Tab A Android tablet using the OTG USB adapter. I bought the full version and I love it!
5 ★This app has made a massive difference to my two Katanas. I set them both up some months ago but knew that some adjustments were needed. However, getting a laptop out, firing it up and connecting the amps has always been a nuisance, especially if you want to make changes in the middle of a gig/rehearsal ... no laptop anyway! Ive always got my phone on me so I can now make adjustments any time. Brilliant!!
4 ★Updated Review - Looks good. Found an advanced setting I wasnt aware about to turn on the OTG USB. As soon as I did that the amp connected to the amp. Importing TSLs was easy as was selecting patches. some seemed to take a second or two to load, but nothing too serious. Haven't had a chance to dig too deep into this, especially the EQ and editing patches etc. But on this showing it has a lot of promise.
5 ★Don't listen to the negative or neutral ratings. This is better than Boss Tone Studio, which is good, but you have to deal with Windows & at least a laptop. This is much more portable & customizable. It loaded no problem on my Samsung S5, Note 4 & my dedicated old Samsung 7" Tab 2. It runs flawless, even on old android 4.0. For the price of a set of strings...just buy it if you have a Katana.
4 ★Workd very well indeed, very responsive. The UI can be a bit unintuitive at times, but everyone has a different idea if how the UX should be. That is the only reason I give 4 stars and not 5. simply because there is still some room to make it even better. fantastic level of control over the katana though, and for me, much more convenient than tone studio. connected flawlessly on both my phone and tablet, works great. Even offers access to things you won't even find in Tone Studio. impressive
5 ★Great app! I installed this on a cheap tablet running Android 7.0 with an OTG dongle and it detected my Katana 50 V3.0 immediately. I bought the full version and it works great. The editor has all of the features I want - including sneaky amps - except the new parameter/exp peral control, but that doesn't really interest me anyway. Edit: Tera Echo support is awesome, and makes this app just about perfect. Thanks for creating this fantastic app!
5 ★Excellent when not connected up to a laptop. First and foremost - you HAVE to order an OTG cable (on the go) in order for the app to work. I have a Samsung Galaxy android phone with the Micro-USB plug. The Boss Katana Artist has the USB-B input (just like a printer). USB-B ----> USB 2.0 A (common sold everywhere). But then, how to you plug in your phone? USB 2.0 A (female) adapter ----> Micro-USB Bingo! That's all you need. Get one off Amazon, or anywhere on the internet.
5 ★Great app. Worth every penny to be able to edit patches without having to move the amp and hook it up to my desktop. The interface is clean and easy to use. I use it on both a MK1 and MK2 and the app works great on both. The only update I would love to see is support for Chromebooks. Using my phone fine but having the larger screen would be nice.
5 ★This does what it says on the tin, although the UX could be improved. - Switching between library and editor via the sidebar is clunky. Would be nice to automatically switch to editor after selecting a preset - There is no way to add a preset to another label when viewing a label - Selecting some of the sneaky amps (orange) causes a very loud static sound. I suspect that this is a katana v3 bug, but it would be nice if the bad presets would be removed from librarian
