Wafiq nama panggilan dari Wafiq Azizah, bakatnya tuk bersenandung diturunkan dari bapaknya. Kenapa, Sebab disaat dia mengisi acara di TVRI Yogyakarta ada seorang produser dari Jakarta kecantol dengan suaranya. Hingga akhirnya rekaman setiap tahun harus diikuti oleh Wafiq disaat usianya masih kecil. Namanya kian melejit setelah membawakan sholawat rebana.
