While the game engine for everyone's favorite 1993 game and its many sequels are open source, most of its "assets" including textures, sounds, and game levels are copyrighted.
The Freedoom project offers an alternative, original, and community created set of assets and game levels that are open source. Combined with the opensource game engine, this makes for an entirely free and open source game.
In addition, this app is compatible with most fan made "WADs" (game levels) in the idgames archive.
This app is a fork of nvllsvm's GZDoom-Android port
Most custom wads can be played by:
1. place them under Freedoom/config/wads
2. Select the desired wad from the main screen by pressing "Addons", "WADS", then your desired wad
3. press "OK", then select the main game resource file to use (usually freedoom2.wad)
4. press "Launch"
5. start a "new game" as usual, but you will go to custom level instead of the normal first level of the game
6. (alternate) some levels replace other maps than the first one in the game and may require use of a warp command or special launch argument (such as -warp 3 1) to get to it
Full game iwads should be placed in Freedoom/config next to freedoom1.wad and freedoom2.wad
Game mods should be placed in Freedoom/config/mods

Download Freedoom APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files

5 ★Perfect mobile port only a few differences I also could not get the multiplayer to work but that's ok I personally think that the game is amazing on it's own it also lasted me many months with diffacult puzzles and great combat the only things I reccomend is nerfing the double barrel shotgun and reducing movement speed
3 ★I really am annoyed that I can't divide the resolution, in the options because I wanted that original dosbox look but if i divide the res by more than 3 it start cutting off the screen, and that really annoys me. I can't fix that issue but beside's that this app is pretty good.
4 ★The game is excellent👍👏👌 The only that bothers me is trying to figure out how to use the Bluetooth controller the only thing I could do is move forwards move backwards look left look right and that's it I'd appreciate it if you did something so it's easier to set up the controller with the game
5 ★Awesome game; true to the original with nice upgrades like particle effects and blood splatter. Some levels have spectacularly difficult spots to navigate through that made me want to throw my phone through the window but all in all this is a solid, killer game!
5 ★Best fps controls on Android due to lack of buttons, you slide on the screen to move which makes strafing easier, and you can put different mods and wads on there using WinZip, even brutal doom works! ( Tip: add wads to "wads" folder and pk3s to "mods" folder)
2 ★The app keeps on crashing whenever i try to play doom 2, plutonia, tnt evilution, doom1,etc. But it crashes only once when i open the app and once when I close the app.
3 ★It's not a bad game but it's one of those were the f do I go? Type of games I wish it would have a arrow so it's easier to find your way out.
3 ★The game is great and all, and it allows great mods to be played but the lack of updates is terribly disappointing
4 ★If only setting to adjust movement sensitivity was exist. The movement is too fast (it's not normal running like I played on pc gzdoom version, it's sprinting). I've tried to adjust it in-game option but still no result.
1 ★Crashes Everytime I try to open a doom wad. I used to play doom with this same app without any error long ago, but now this app is ruined and won't work anymore
4 ★Touch controlls were sensitive and i think the buttons should be labeled And i had no idea what was happening when i 1st started the game lol 4 stars. I liked it. The flaw made it more challenging to beat both the games. I recommend you fix this though. Creator.
1 ★Once you die you can't do anything unless you reopen the app. You also can't do anything after you kill all the monsters. I wouldn't reccomend you download this game. If I could I'd rate it 0/5 Edit: that makes more sense but I didn't see any other buttons
