El archiconocido Cha-La-Head-Cha-La aumentó todavía más la épica de la serie, con los héroes en pleno vuelo y con ataques de lo más impactantes. Este opening se mantuvo desde el comienzo de Dragon Ball Z hasta la saga de Buu, pero se le añadieron algunos cambios para mantenerlo actualizado, como la transformación de Goku en Supersaiyajin.
Una vez llegó la saga de Buu, se creó una cabecera completamente nueva, con el tema "We gotta power" como guía y Gohan de protagonista. En nuestra opinión, este opening era bastante flojo, a excepción de las fanfarrias del comienzo, que sí eran emocionantes.
Como decíamos, la serie comenzó a emitirse en 1986, pero no fue hasta los 90 cuando se hizo popular en España. El tema del opening se mantuvo intacto en su melodía al llegar a nuestro país. El montaje estaba claramente inspirado en las pelis asiáticas de artes marciales que tan populares se hicieron en los 70. En otro momento, hablaremos de esos usos incorrectos del lenguaje en la versión española ("este mundo es una isla sin par donde hay escondido un tesoro en él"), pero lo importante era fliparse, ¿no?
Hasta 4 versiones distintas se han creado de este opening, que contaba con "Dragon Soul" como música de fondo. Recuperaba el tono de Dragon Ball Z y, aunque no resultaba tan impactante, sí iba en la línea correcta. Y, en cualquier caso, volver a ver a los héroes en movimiento y en HD ya era bastante motivo de alegría...
La última parte de Dragon Ball Kai, igual que sucediera con Dragon Ball Z, cambió por completo de opening, con el nuevo tema Kuu-Zen-Zetsu-Go. Eso sí, esta vez hubo más protagonismo para Goku. De nuevo, el tono era correcto, pero se apostó por algunos efectos por ordenador al principio que, en nuestra opinión, están de más. ¡Animación tradicional, leñe, que no pasa nada!
