“Setiap jiwa akan merasakan mati, dan sesungguhnya pada hari kiamat sajalah disempurnakan pahalamu. Barangsiapa dijauhkan dari neraka dan dimasukkan ke dalam surga, maka sungguh ia telah beruntung. Kehidupan dunia itu tidak lain hanyalah kesenangan yang memperdaya.” (Ali ‘Imran: 185)
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala berfirman:
أَيْنَمَا تَكُونُوا يُدْرِكُكُمُ الْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنْتُمْ فِي بُرُوجٍ مُشَيَّدَةٍ وَإِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَقُولُوا هَذِهِ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ وَإِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَقُولُوا هَذِهِ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ فَمَالِ هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ لَا يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ حَدِيثًا
“Di mana saja kamu berada, kematian akan mendapatimu kendatipun kamu di dalam benteng yang tinggi lagi kokoh. Jika mereka memperoleh kebaikan, mereka mengatakan: ‘Ini adalah dari sisi Allah’, dan kalau mereka ditimpa sesuatu bencana mereka mengatakan: ‘Ini (datangnya) dari sisi kamu (Muhammad).’ Katakanlah: ‘Semuanya (datang) dari sisi Allah.’ Maka mengapa orang-orang itu (orang munafik) hampir-hampir tidak memahami pembicaraan sedikit pun?” (An-Nisa’: 78)

وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ مَا كُنْتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ. وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ
“Dan datanglah sakaratul maut dengan sebenar-benarnya, itu adalah perkara yang kamu tidak bisa mengelak lari darinya. Dan ditiuplah sangkakala, itulah hari terlaksananya ancaman.” (Qaf: 19-20)

وَلَنْ يُؤَخِّرَ اللهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهَا وَاللهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
“Dan Allah sekali-kali tidak akan menangguhkan (kematian) seseorang apabila telah datang waktu kematiannya. Dan Allah Maha mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.” (Al-Munafiqun: 11)
