It is scientifically proven (eg. Karageorghis 2011) in numerous studies the positive impact of synchronized music on runners performance, amateur and professional; This synchronization can be achieved by choosing the songs that have a rhythm similar to the cadence of the steps that you want to held.
BeatRunner aims to automate this process by creating ad-hoc targeted playlists or using your smartphone's sensor to detect in real time the rhythm of the steps and thereby generating the appropriate playlist from the music library on the device.
The algorithm built into this app calculates the BPM of the tracks locally, therefore without the need of an internet connection.
