اسمه مركب محمد رفعت واسم ابوة احمد رفعت وقد فقد بصره وهو في الثانية من عمرة وهو اول قارئ مصري وهو من مواليد القاهرة 1882 وتوفي عام 1950 وقد لقب بقيثارة السماء وهو الذي افتتح الاذاعة المصرية بقراءته عام 1934.
