4 ★I can't even boot up the game. It tells me the service is unavailable and then removes me from the app, but leaves the app running in the background. I've tried to force close it and uninstall/reinstall it, but no luck. Not going to improve this review until they push a patch to fix this. 😮💨 EDIT: It's fixed! It's reading my schedule a bit oddly, but at least it works right? 😅
2 ★It's not bad, but it's definitely not good. It's frustrating just trying to find out what "Teo" is saying or even what the conversation is about. The grammar is horrendous and it makes things seem unrealistic. The way in which Teo spams you nearly every chance he gets comes of less romantic and more disturbing, especially when you miss a single conversation. This game definitely needs work, and you won't find me spending nearly 30 dollars a month on a game that isn't even completed. That's all.
2 ★I've played three days now and I have to say, this game lacks the charm and immersion of Mystic Messenger. The chats feel shallow and boring, making it difficult to care about Teo. There's no real substance to conversations. There are also many grammatical errors, which break immersion. The devs put more effort into developing unnecessarily complicated side features than the story itself, likely because they want to cash grab in as many ways as possible. On top of it all, chat notifs are broken.
3 ★There is room for improvement. The game keeps on going to the home startup screen when im switching apps, it gets annoying when I'm in the middle of the chat. It lacks notifications so I miss tons of chat rooms. Even though there is set times for chats there is times where the chats are not in one go and I'll have to wait 5 mins or more for the chat to continue, sometimes I have no time to wait for that. Also game requires to spend money on some features, it takes the experience and fun away.
3 ★I like the game, but it feels like you miss out on a lot if you're not subscribed and the subscription is so expensive. ($20-$30 a month?!) There's not really a way to earn resources, so you almost have no choice. The english translation isn't great, which is usually charming, but sometimes makes it hard to respond. You can set your own schedule, but the events don't actually happen on schedule which causes you to miss chats.(notifications rarely work) Hopefully it improves with time.
1 ★The amount of bugs is ridiculous when it took so long to come out. I will accept a chat, it will end and the game is frozen. I'll have to restart and my in game currency will be spent but it's like the Convo half way happened and I'll need to pay twice. The dialogue changes too? It's very different and it's the apps fault for freezing. Very disappointed.
3 ★Waiting for something to happen..I'm on day 43. It's pretty much the same thing. You're boyfriend is out looking for work and the whole relationship is via messages. The thing that made Mystic messenger stand out was the story. There was drama, cut scenes, and better plot development. I think if this game had some cut scenes or they went on dates it would be more exciting. I'm still playing though just not paying for any extras anymore.
1 ★An obvious cash grab. You can set your own schedule, but Teo takes so long to respond (up to 30 minutes multiple times per chat) that it doesn't really matter anyway. The only way to combat this is spending batteries or buying the subscription for more batteries. You need batteries to see his pictures which are often just the same face copied and pasted on other bodies. Eventually you get "voiced" messages, which are just normal texts that you also need batteries to read. Really not worth it.
3 ★My favorite part of ssum is the planet system. You can share nearly anything you want with other players through writing and it's a really cool way to feel apart of the community. Chatting with the main lead has gotten better as well, most likely because of the multiple recent updates. However, one thing I strongly dislike is the ads in game. They pop up all the time when switching around diffrent applications and its super annoying. Hopefully they'll go away at some point but who knows.
2 ★I was really hoping for so much more from this game, but the paywall is egregious and the idea of paying more than weekly groceries just to get the full scope of the game is not appealing. The love interest can be a little dry sometimes. Edit: The saving grace of the game is the planet system and being able talk to the other players. As I play more I've noticed the therapeutic aspects a bit more. I'll update my review in 2 weeks.
2 ★This game is fun and nice. I like the story and that calls. I rated the game with 2 stars because of how cash-grab it feels. There's photo blockages and "special messages" you can send if you spend money to get the materials required. It's kinda scummy and it makes the game feel worse. I'll change my rating if they make the cash-grabs less grabby.
2 ★I can deal with the bad translations and ads, but the explanation on how to do anything outside of chatting is very confusing. I find being able to put your schedule in very helpful, but it doesn't matter once it's time to chat and the response takes 20 minutes or longer. The only way to get faster responses is to use assets which can be expensive to buy or pay the subscription fee which is ridiculously expensive. So maybe it's best to wait to play.
